August Favorites

I feel like I’m the only one who’s sad summer is ending. It went by so quickly! It’s probably because I work in retail, but I absolutely dread November and December and wish the easy, slow summer months would last just a bit longer.

Anyway…favorites! I discovered a few amazing products this month, and I rediscovered some old loves. I’ve been using either the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer or Benefit The Porefessional almost every day since I got them, and I have to tell you, I can’t imagine doing my makeup without some kind of primer ever again. The Mineral Veil creates a nice base for makeup and helps it last throughout the day. The Porefessional definitely gives the illusion of smaller pores, and it evens out bumpy areas quite nicely. The only thing I’m not a fan of is that it’s scented. I really hate it when face products contain fragrances because it’s just not good for skin at all. Nevertheless, I like these two primers A LOT. They have also solved a problem I’ve been having since forever. My foundation always seems to…um…collect? around my nostrils, giving the skin around my nose a flaky, dry look. It’s pretty gross, I know, but these two products completely eliminate any “grossnostril”.

The L’Oréal Magic Skin Beautifier B.B. Cream is an old favorite that I’ve been using almost every day the past couple of weeks. It has amazing coverage for a BB cream, and it’s great for those days when you’re running late or just want to keep your makeup simple and easy. For concealer, I strayed from my usual Bobbi Brown Corrector and Maybelline Fit Me, and decided to revisit the Make Up Forever Full Cover Extreme Camouflage Cream. When I first purchased it last year, I liked it, but it didn’t wow me. Now, I think it may be in my top three all-time favorites. The texture is so amazing. It’s practically undetectable on the skin, and it doesn’t crease under my eyes, which is basically a miracle in itself.

Now to possibly my favorite favorite of the month. The Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelée in Pink Escape. Oh my word. This blush is GORGEOUS. At one point, I actually started to feel bad for neglecting all my other blushes because I’d been using this every single day. I still want to use it every day. Ugh, it’s just beautiful. I stipple it onto the apples of my cheeks and it creates the most beautiful natural-looking flush. It also feels refreshing to apply, which is a strange thing to say about a blush, but if you’ve tried these, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

On my lips, I’ve been wearing the NYX Butter Gloss in Peaches and Cream. It’s a nice, pretty pink, perfect for summer. I love the Butter Glosses and Lipsticks from NYX…I have quite the collection from this brand.

The last product is the Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque. I talked about this hair mask more in-depth in my products for curly hair post. It’s super nourishing, and great for anyone, not just curly-haired ladies.

That’s it! Have you tried any of these products? What have you been loving this month?

It is pricey, but worth it in my opinion! I still love my drugstore concealers though 🙂

The Shea Moisture mask looks really interesting. I’d never even heard of that brand until yesterday. I went to the Made in America festival and they were one of the sponsors. Going to have to look into them now

Great collection! I love how you included the Deep Treatment hair mask, it’s one of the products that I use whole year. Also your little candle holders are too cute! Great post!
