Welcome to my first post! What better way to get to know a girl than by looking through the contents of her bag, right? Here we go:
Rebecca Minkoff Jules Cross Body | About a year ago, I saw a blogger show off her Moto Mini Cross Body, and it started a Rebecca Minkoff crush. Fast forward to June of this year, when I saw the Jules in a Saks outlet store in New Jersey. Now, I’m not a handbag-obsessed woman, and up until recently, I got all my bags and purses from Forever21, H&M, and Zara, but I was tired of them literally falling apart after a few months of use. I wanted an upgrade, but was hesitant to spend so much on a bag, even at the outlet store price, so I walked away. I spent some more time wandering around the mall, but I couldn’t stop thinking about the Jules. You know the rest. It’s the perfect size for a cross body, compact yet surprisingly roomy. It forces you to think about what you really want to carry with you throughout the day. I’ve been using it daily since I got it, and other than a few tiny, tiny scratches on the metal accents, it’s in perfect condition.
Baggu 3-Piece Zipper Bag Set | My trusty wallet from Target just barely fits into my bag, so in the interest of saving space and keeping things light, I switched to these handy zipper bags. I use one for keys, one for cards, and one for cash. While I like these, I don’t think they’re the best for everyday use. I’m definitely looking for a new lightweight wallet. Also, Baggu seems to have discontinued the zipper sets.
Aquaphor Healing Ointment | I don’t care what anyone says, this is the best hand cream of all time. OF ALL TIME. I know, I know, it leaves your hands a bit greasy for a couple minutes, but after it sinks in, you will practically have new hands. There is simply nothing better.
Alba Botanica Natural Hawaiian Lip Balm | For most of my life, I hated lip balms. I found that they actually made my lips more chapped and dry. I eventually discovered that many of them are made with ingredients that are known to be irritating to the skin. Basically any balm that claims to be “cooling”, “refreshing”, or “minty” is going to cause me problems. This one from Alba Botanica is awesome! It’s made with coconut and jojoba oil along with many other nourishing ingredients. I definitely recommend it.
NYX Matte Lipstick in “Spirit” | This lipstick isn’t something I wear often. I saw someone on Instagram wearing it, and desperately wanted to try it. I ordered it from NYX’s website, and after it was delivered (almost two weeks later…come on, NYX, step it up!) I was a bit disappointed. It settles into the lines of my lips immediately, even layered on top of a lip balm. I like the color, although I’m not sure it works that well with my skin tone.
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in “Honey” | Not much to say about this one that hasn’t already been said. It’s a great “my lips but better” color for me.
Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain in “Candied Coral” | I don’t wear this very often either because it’s so bright. Like, neon coral bright. I do find that the Jordana Balm Stains are right on par with Revlon’s, possibly even better. They don’t seem to cling to dry patches on my lips as much as Revlon’s.
Marc Jacobs DOT Rollerball | I only got into perfumes about a year ago, and even still I go most days without any, but I love DOT. I think it’s bright and fresh and perfect for spring and summer.
I also keep a little mirror with me at all times, and of course, sunglasses. I got this pair from Aldo last summer and can’t find anything similar on their site.
So there you have it! Thanks for stopping by!
