Mini Trader Joe’s haul

Whenever I go to Trader Joe’s, I make a beeline for the beauty section. I love everything at Trader Joe’s, but their skin and hair care products are truly amazing. This time around, I picked up some old favorites and a few new-to-me things.

I love anything with tea tree oil, and I’ve been using the Tea Tree Tingle conditioner and the Tea Tree Oil bar soap off and on for years now. The conditioner isn’t the richest one out there, but it’s crazy cheap, and it does a good job. I feel like I’m one of the only people out there who prefers bar soap to body wash. It makes me feel cleaner for some reason. I love this particular soap because I’m convinced that whenever I use it, my bacne (yep, I’m one of those unfortunate people cursed with breakouts on my back) improves.

On to the new stuff. This past week in New York has been bitterly cold and dry, and, consequently, my face, hands, and feet are looking especially crocodile-like, so I picked up two moisturizing products, the Head to Toe Moisturizing Balm, and the Ultra Moisturizing Hand Cream. So far, I like both. The hand cream is incredibly thick, which is just what I need, and the balm is nice and soothing, with a light, citrusy scent.

The last thing I picked up was the All-in-One Facial Cleanser. For some reason, maybe because of the packaging, but probably just because I was tired, I thought this was an oil cleanser. Well, it’s not, but it does say it can be used on dry or wet skin, so I’ll try it out and see how it goes. After the horrible clindamycin incident of a few weeks ago, and the return of my trusty old Cerave Foaming Cleanser (and much improved skin), I’m hesitant to try out anything new just yet, but as it’s a cleanser and not a leave-on product, I’m more okay with trying it out.

Do you use any Trader Joe’s skin or hair care products? What are your favorites?

For what it’s worth, I used to use the TJ’s all in one cleanser – it worked well, though it left my skin a wee bit drier feeling than Cerave, which is my current favorite. It didn’t irritate or cause any break outs but my skin is pretty hardy – I tend to just get hormonal acne, so not much help in that regards. I found it to be good but not holy grail status. As for what I love in TJ’s beauty/personal care line – their mint lip balms in the 3 tube packs are wonderful, I love the mango shave cream and the coconut and/or pumpkin (seasonal only) body butters.

Wow, I’ve never seen any of those things at my Trader Joe’s! They all sound amazing. As for the cleanser, I don’t have super high hopes for it – I expect I’ll have the same experience as you.
