Hello, everyone! Unfortunately, a couple things have been taking up all my free time lately. I’m taking a graphic design class, and I got selected to serve on a jury, both of which started inconveniently at the same time. Thankfully, jury duty is over, so I can hopefully devote a little more time to the blog. I had been planning on doing a haul post of things I got for Christmas, but then time kept slipping away and now I’ve acquired a few more things!
After the holidays, I put myself on a no-lip product-buy, and it went…okay, haha. The two NARS lip pencils were my free birthday gift from Sephora, so no guilt there! The other lipstick, I just couldn’t resist. The Maybelline Creamy Matte lipsticks were being raved about everywhere, and ‘Touch of Spice’ really took my fancy. I’ve worn it a couple times and was insanely impressed.
With my lip product ban, I’ve turned my attention toward mascaras. The first one I picked up was Maybelline Pumped Up Colassal Volum’Express. This was a random pick for me, and sadly it was quite disappointing. It gives my lashes no volume or length whatsoever. I think the brush just doesn’t work with my lashes. The other two are L’Oreal Miss Manga and the new Benefit Roller Lash (I got the very last sample at Sephora the other day!), both of which I really like! They both seem to give lots of volume and separation; Roller Lash definitely has more of a wow factor (what a surprise, right?).
In my quest to find the perfect foundation, I decided to try Rimmel Match Perfection. I’ve never tried a base from Rimmel before, so I was curious how it stacked up to my current favorite foundation, which is also from the drugstore-Covergirl 3-in-1. The first thing I noticed when I used this was the scent. Oh, how I hate it when face products are scented. I don’t hate this foundation, but I think it does irritate my skin. The next product I picked up is actually an early birthday present from my husband. I have wanted the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette for basically eternity, and it’s finally mine!
The final two things I picked up are nail products. Essie Sand Tropez is apparently a cult favorite, and I picked it up when I was feeling sad and needed some serious retail therapy, and The Sally Hansen nail wraps are something I’ve had great success with in the past. I used the nail wraps once last summer, and got a million compliments on them, and they lasted 10 days with almost zero wear. The only thing I hate is the patterns! 99% of them are SO.UGLY. and there are never any new ones! I saw this cute flowery one on sale for 1/2 price at Ulta, so you better believe I snatched it up.
That’s it! Have you tried any of these products? Let me know!
