LORAC Mega Pro Palette- Photos and Swatches

IT’S HERE! I have wanted to pick up the original Lorac Pro palette for AGES, but when I heard rumors about this mysterious Mega Pro palette, I decided to hold off. So, on October 7th, I ordered it through Amazon Prime, and it came within 24 hours. Ahh! I’ve never really lusted after Holiday sets or Limited Edition offers from cosmetics companies before, but this one was just…different. The hype surrounding all the Lorac Pro palettes was just too much for little old me, and I finally succumbed.

I did my best to take photos of the palette and swatch out the shadows for you. This process made me really appreciate beauty bloggers like Temptalia whose photographs are so crisp and of such high quality. I definitely realized when I was taking these photos that the lens I use is not good for taking close up photographs, and you’ll notice some distortion. I apologize for that, and I hope to pick up a new lens soon!

The Lorac Mega Pro Palette ($59, now sold out on Lorac’s website and Amazon) is a limited edition palette for Lorac’s Holiday 2014: The Royal Collection. It features 32 shades, 16 mattes, and 16 satins/glitters. The palette itself is very slim and compact. It closes magnetically, and it has a nice, big mirror. The eyeshadows are very buttery and soft, and for the most part, very pigmented. The only shadow I found lacking in pigmentation was the very first shadow, Cream. Also, when I was swatching Apricot, a small chunk came completely loose and fell out – eep! All in all, I’m very glad I took the Mega Pro leap! It’s an excellent value for the price. I cannot wait to play around with all these shadows. If you’re a neutral lover like me, I’d say get your hands on it if you can!

My favorites so far are Sepia, Mulberry (gorgeous!), Wisteria, Merlot, Smokey Topaz, Dusty Rose, and Granite.

Swatches are hard right?! Yours are really good though!

I almost bought this palette just for Mulberry and Apricot but managed to resist.
