I thought I’d share a few home-y things I picked up recently. The majority are from H&M Home, which is somewhat new in the US. I’ve perused the website so many times since it launched in summer of last year. A couple weeks ago, I finally said to myself “Enough is enough! Just order already!” I kept the order pretty small in case the quality wasn’t that great. Fortunately, I’m happy with the look and feel of everything, and I’m sure I’ll be ordering lots more in the future. The only thing I found confusing was the grey jacquard-weave bath mat. There’s no lining whatsoever on the bottom, so I feel like it wouldn’t absorb water that well, and I feel like it would probably slip and slide on the floor. My husband said he thought it was a hand towel at first, so I’m pretty sure we’re just going to use it as that. I also picked up some tea lights because they were only$2.95 for 27!
I’m most excited about these tea light holders. So geometric! So gold! I hope these trends don’t fade away too quickly because I’m pretty obsessed. I picked up a matching box for…well, something. Maybe jewelry? My husband and I moved into our current apartment in December of 2013 from a studio apartment that was literally less than half the size, so it’s still pretty barren in terms of decoration.
The last two things I got are these little bowls from Target. I think Target has some really cute stuff. Unfortunately, I live in Brooklyn, and the Target here is always so busy and so picked over (especially the cosmetics sections, grr). Sometimes, I do work up the nerve to go there, and I can usually find a couple things. I liked the patterns on these, and I always use little bowls (or katoris, as my husband would call them) for cooking.
So that’s it! Have any of you gotten stuff from H&M Home? What did you think?
